An abscess removal surgery carried out yesterday night. It is a mangrove viper/shore pit viper (Trimeresurus purpureomaculatus) and abscess is located around the tail.

too bad my handphone out of batteri that time,i had miss out the stitching process video and few more photos. nonetheless, the wound can recover in 2 days time(as expected) and it is applied with a layer of protection cream.i will update on this from time to time.hope the snake can get better soon.

I helped out with a similar surgery on a bloodpython before. Anal prolapse, led to abscess and rotting of the internal walls of the anus of the snake. Not a very pretty sight. I still have the pics on my pc, for personal keeps.
